I'm extremely new to the internet domain of making your own website, so a lot of this will be a work in progress. I'm excited to start my journey on here and I hope to curate this page into a fun space where I can share opinions on various subjects and media.

A couple things about me! My real name is Aubrey I am a 21 year old woman who enjoys drawing, gaming, reading, and all types of various creative outlets. I have two cats and many plants.

Recent Reads

Reading has always been seen as sort of a chore for me as a child, the sort of thing you only did cause it was required. However one day in third grade I had been given a book named spiderwick chronicles, and the moment I picked it up I was hooked. I had read about three of these chapter books in the span of seven days. I believe my love of reading and literature began there. Now don't get me wrong I still find it hard to pick up a book that really captivates me, but I have come to realize that reading shouldn't be seen as a chore. Reading is a fundamental understandng of being able to put yourself in the shoes of another character and see the world from a different lens. Now after giving a little back story on what got me into the world of literature I would like to talk about some recent reads that I found fascinating.

A book I have read recently that I enjoyed was Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer having watched the movie first definitely led me astray a bit when reading this book. The book is part of a trilogy so naturally the first book is set very differently than expected, however when reading many times you have to seperate the movie potrayal entirely to truly grasp the books ideas. This would be the case for me as well. The book takes place in our society however there seems to be a rip in the fabric of space in which you can enter and be transported into a whole new world. This leads the government to send various test subjects into this area known as area X. The book follows the recent subjects that are sent and shows how the protagonist learns to survive and adapt into a world that feels so familiar to her yet is unlike anything shes ever experienced before. i definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a psychological and suspenseful book.
